Dr. Stefano Grossi, cardiologist, arrhythmologist, interventional electrophysiologist, is
è director of the H.S. of Electrophysiology at the Ospedale Mauriziano Umberto I in Turin, Italy.

Education

• 1990 Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Turin:
• 1994 Specialization in Cardiology:
• 1995 Started his activity at the cardiology department of the Mauriziano Hospital in Turin where he began to deal with arrhythmic pathologies:
• 1998 Performed the first ablation procedure at this center:
• 1999 Training on transcatheter ablation using advanced technological systems at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan under the guidance of Prof. Carlo Pappone:
• From 2001 to 2003 Under the guidance of Prof. Fiorenzo Gaita Intensive training on the ablation of complex arrhythmias and the study of genetically determined arrhythmias:
• In 2006 Under the guidance of Prof. Sosa (San Paolo, Brazil) Training on epicardial mapping and ablation of arrhythmias, thus becoming one of the first in the world to perform ablation procedures using this technique.

Activity

In 2008 he promoted the installation of the Stereotaxis Magnetic Navigation Robotic Systemat the Mauriziano Hospital in Turin : the second in Italy and the only one in Piedmont, it allows the execution of extremely complex ablation procedures, which in some cases cannot be performed manually.

Since then, at the Mauriziano electrophysiology center in Turin, Dr. Grossi has performed thousands of ablative procedures using the robotic system and in 2018 he performed the first case in Italy of robotic ablation of Brugada Syndrome.

BRUGADA
SYNDROME

At the Mauriziano Hospital in Turin, Dr. Stefano Grossi has produced the second case series in the world for transcatheter ablation of the arrhythmic substrate in high-risk patients.

More than

10.000

ABLATIVE PROCEDURE INTERVENTIONS

During his thirty-year career, Dr. Stefano Grossi has performed more than 10,000 ablative procedures using all the technologically advanced systems that have been developed to date on the world market and in all types of arrhythmias that can currently be subjected to ablative therapy, supraventricular and ventricular

The Electrophysiology Center headed by Dr. Stefano Grossi is the first in Italy for number of procedures among public hospitals.

Dr. Stefano Grossi has dedicated many resources over the years to the study of atrial fibrillation, subjecting thousands of patients affected by this pathology to ablation.

In 2017 he performed the first procedure in Italy of ablation of the rotors in the left atrium using the Topera system in a patient with atrial fibrillation refractory to standard ablative procedures.

In 2022 he performed the world's first endo-epicardial ablation of atrial fibrillation and left atrial appendage ligation with the LARIAT system using a non-surgical, but exclusively transcatheter approach.

In the field of cardiac stimulation, he has performed thousands of pacemaker and defibrillator implants and in 2017 the first implant in Italy of a device for the modulation of cardiac contractility (CCM) for the treatment of heart failure.
